Pot Luck at Berwick-upon-Tweed Station

Berwick-upon-Tweed is the final stop in England for the East Coast Main Line, which snakes its way from London Kings Cross to Edinburgh Waverley.

Having spent a very enjoyable day at the Heatherslaw Light Railway, I decided to call in at Berwick-upon-Tweed railway stations to see what was moving.

The station stands adjacent to the ruins of Berwick Castle and lies at the immediate north of the 28-arch Royal Border Bridge (as shown in the title slide).

During my hour-long visit to Berwick, I caught the following trains in my footage:
- 1E25: LNER service from Aberdeen to London Kings Cross
- 1S47: CrossCountry service from Bristol Temple Meads to Glasgow Central
- 6E35: Colas Rail service from Millerhill S.S. to Doncaster Up Decoy
- 6E45: GB Railfreight service from Fort William Alcan Gbrf to North Blyth Alcan Gbrf

It was a nice treat to see that 6E35 was being hauled by Colas Rail's 56094. The train was comprised of rubble-loaded MPA coalfish wagons. GB Railfreight's 66740 "Sarah" was in charge of train 6E45, which was comprised of empty PCA alumina tanks.

Filmed on 19th July 2021.

Footage was captured using a Panasonic HC-VX1 fitted with a Rode VideoMic Go.
