Trains at Horton-in-Ribblesdale Station

I spent a couple of hours at Horton-in-Ribblesdale to catch the 1Z45 loco-hauled tourist charter from Skipton to Appleby.

Owing to the coronavirus lockdown normal services on the Settle and Carlisle Railway have been reduced, which has left capacity for six special loco-hauled charter services every day.

On this occasion 1Z45 was topped and tailed by class 37 number D6817, in British Railways green, and 47593 "Galloway Princess", in British Rail blue. The passage of this train was captured on my GoPro Hero 8s and I regret to say that despite the exceptional image quality, I am still having some external microphone problems. For the life of me I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong!

I also caught one of the regular Northern Trains services, 2H95 consisting of Express Sprinter 158842, calling at Horton. The guard and a waiting member of the public exchanged some lost property. This was filmed on my Canon EOS 700D using the internal microphone.

This short video shows the following trains through Horton-in-Ribblesdale on the evening of 29th July 2020:
- 1Z45 Rail Charter Services loco-hauled service from Skipton to Appleby
- 2H95 Northern Trains service from Carlisle to Leeds
