Tractors on the Retro Cumbrian Coaster II

The Retro Cumbrian Coaster II railtour snaked its way along the scenic Cumbrian Coast Line today.

There was plenty of grunt under the bonnet, with today's train triple-headed by Rail Operations Group locomotives 37800 "Casseopeia", 37510 "Orion" and 57312. The train consisted of ten mark 3 coaches.

The train travelled under the headcode 1Z28 from Chesterfield to Workington. There was a time when it was more than 30 minutes late during its outward leg, but it made the time back before it arrived at its destination. After an hour or so at Workington the train returned to Chesterfield via the reverse route under the headcode 1Z30.

The leading class 37s, with their striking red and grey Rail Operations Group livery, looked splendid against the cloudless blue sky. My only complaint is that there was a bit of a breeze, as is often the case, when I was filming them at Parton.

Apologies for the faint background music in my St Bees footage. Some chap was doing his garden nearby with the radio pumping out 80s classics!

Filmed on 28th August 2021.

Footage was captured using a Panasonic HC-VX1 (aff. link) fitted with a Rode VideoMic Go (aff. link).
