Barnetby Station in north Lincolnshire is always a popular spot for rail freight enthusiasts.
Situated just a few miles to the west of the Port of Immingham, Barnetby sees all manner of cargo passing through the docks. The busy Humber and Lindsey Oil Refineries are also only a stone's throw away.
This video was filmed on a chilly autumn day. Train 6E32, the 1005 Colas Ribble Rail to Lindsey Oil Refinery, trundles eastwards towards the coast. Colas Rail's 70813 hauls the rake of 14 empty ICA bitumen bogie tank wagons, belching clag high into the Lincolnshire sky as its driver opens up the throttle.
A short time later train 6M00, the 1430 Humber Oil Refinery to Kingsbury Oil Sidings, passes through in the opposite direction. DB Cargo's 66168 takes the strain of 32 loaded TEA bogie tanker wagons, each one weighing just shy of 100 tonnes.
Finally, after a gruelling day hauling tanks the width of the country, we see Colas Rail's 70813 passing through as light engine 0E33, on its way for a well earned overnight rest in Barnetby sidings.
Footage was captured using a Panasonic HC-VX1 (aff. link) fitted with a Rode VideoMic Go (aff. link).
